Our friends from ACS Composite are back from their trip to Corvettes at Carlisle, and if you were there, hopefully, you had the opportunity to talk to Joseph Taverna who was one of the busiest installers we saw during the world’s largest Corvette event. Joseph told us to keep our eyes open as they have a bunch of new products for the Corvette under development, and today we bring you the new C8 Corvette Coupe Engine Appearance Pack.
We’ve been missing the factory RPO ZZ3 engine appearance option for most of this calendar year as the part supplier is no longer in that business. Without those engine panels installed, the Corvette Coupe’s engine bay has a raw, unfinished look. If you’re tired of looking at those openings and want to highlight your 495-hp LT2, the ACS Engine Appearance Pack offers several ways to customize your Coupe’s engine compartment.
The Appearance Pack is installed on either side of the engine using the factory OEM mounts and supplied Torx bolts, and the entire process takes just a couple of minutes. The louvered-design of the appearance pack resembles the OEM versions, and they help to hide the less attractive parts of your engine bay while focusing attention to the engine cover. ACS Composite manufactures the C8 Engine Appearance Packs using plastic injection via a cavity mold. This process creates a panel with sharper edges and an improved fit, and they are resistant to the LT2’s engine temperatures so they will never distort from their original shape.
The appearance packs are available in Carbon Flash Metallic with Torch Red and Arctic White versions coming soon, so you’ll be able to customize with either matching or contrasting colors. We like the Carbon Flash Appearance Pack as they are guaranteed to match your C8’s Carbon Flash trim, vents, and body panels already on the car.
The C8 Coupe Engine Appearance Packs are $649 and shipping is free.
The 7VM Front Splitter
Speaking of new products from ACS Composite, have you seen their recently-released 7VM Front Splitter for the C8 Corvette? ACS already offers the 1VM and 5VM Front Splitters, and the new 7VM front splitter is the most aggressive one yet.
Look closely at the signature 7VM winglets and see how they resemble the midengine Corvette’s side air intake. The notch inside the winglet is similar to the side inlets on the C8 which helps to tie it all together from a design perspective. ACS tells us that the notch also resembles an inverted “7,” and that’s how the name of the 7VM front splitter came to be.
The 7VM’s front winglets are taller than those found on the 5VM-style splitter, but the rest of the aero component is similar in size and ground clearance to the 1VM and 5VM versions. As the C8 Stingray was designed to function at its very best with optimum efficiency provided by the 5VM splitter, the 7VM front splitter adds even more downforce with its larger winglet design.
The 7VM Front Splitter is a molded part created via plastic injection and manufactured with a PC Composite material that has extreme resistance to heat and scraping, which is ideal for front splitters. As the 7VM splitter is made from black composite, chips and scrapes don’t show the same way they would on a carbon fiber or fiberglass splitter.
ACS Composite is offering the 7VM Front Splitter for $879 and shipping is free. The 7VM splitter can be installed on any 2020+ C8 Corvette Stingray.
ACS C8 Rock Guards
If you’re a driver and love to put the miles on your C8 Corvette, you will want to make sure your Corvette offers the best defense possible from rock chips and other road debris striking the rear of your car and chipping your paint. While costly solutions like paint protection film (PPF) or ceramic coatings can help minimize the damage to your exterior paint, the C8 Corvette Rock Guards from ACS Composite offers the ultimate protection to guard your Corvette’s exterior against rocks and other debris.
The ACS C8 Rock Guards offer more than double the protection over the OEM versions. The ACS Rock Guards include a wider edge, while the unique bladed design helps to control rocks and road debris inside the wheel well. An added downward extension also provides greater stopping power front and back.
The C8 Rock Guards are manufactured from ACS Composite’s proprietary PC Composite material and are designed to withstand extreme temperatures as well as impacts from rocks and other road debris. Installation is easy and takes as little as 30 minutes as the C8 Rock Guards use the stock OEM mounting points in the wheel wheels, so no drilling or two-sided tape is required.
ACS Composite’s C8 Rock Guards are sold as a set of four (2 front/2 rear) for $499 with free shipping included.
