This past weekend fans in Vancouver attended the Breakout Festival anticipating a performance from one of the hottest rappers in the game Lil Baby. The problem at the festival started when Lil Baby fell under the weather and was too sick to perform and couldn’t make the festival for his scheduled performance. Lil Baby has been nonstop over the past few years and recently was on a North American tour with Chris Brown. On Top of that, he is hard at work finishing his upcoming album It’s Only Me due out October 14th. In response fans reportedly began to riot destroying tents and other structures at the festival.
Lil Baby Issues An Apology After Missing Festival Performance That Allegedly Caused A Riot
The last thing anyone could have expected from his cancellation was a riot to break out but unfortunately, that’s exactly what happened.
“Following an announcement that the headliner at BreakOut Festival would not be performing, fans turned their disappointment into anger, doing significant damage to the PNE Amphitheatre and parts of Hastings Park,” organizers said in a statement. “At this time our first priority is for the safety and wellbeing of our staff as many were deeply affected by the reaction of guests and behavior that ensued.”
Lil Baby eventually ended up hopping on Instagram to issue an apology to upset fans for missing his performance. Even with the apology, he can’t control the actions of the fans but who knew Vancouver got down like that?
You can read his apology below.
