Enthusiasts who want to upgrade the performance of their new mid-engine Corvettes have another option from Lingenfelter that won’t break the bank.
Lingefelter has a well-earned reputation for helping Corvette owners get even more performance out of their cars, and the Michigan-based company has just announced its new High-Performance Hornet Cold Air Intake Airbox, by Halltech, at a price of $795.
The airbox is said to increase the average horsepower of the C8 Corvette to about 512 horsepower (from the stock 495 horsepower when equipped with the optional performance exhaust) and 495 lb-ft of torque (from the stock 470).

Both the coupe and hardtop convertible versions of the mid-engine Corvette can be fitted with the Airbox, which Lingenfelter describes as the perfect complement to its other add-ons like the Lingenfelter Magnuson TVS2650 supercharger package or the Performance Design pTR intake manifold.
The company says enthusiasts will be able to install the Airbox with basic tools, and no modifications or tuning are required (other than drilling out the top center rivet nut on the access panel for convertibles). In addition, the Airbox reuses several factory parts, including the throttle body connector hose, PCV fitting, left and right inlet ducts, and mounting bolts.

A Blue-Bee Dry TKO Performance Nano air filter with 600 square inches of filter area is included, along with a rotomolded filter box, reflective stainless steel, military-grade XLPE insulation, molded velocity stack, and reverse flow partition for laminar flow at the MAF sensor.
