A red Corvette turns a lot of female heads, no matter their age.
A World War II Navy veteran named Marian had spotted her nurse’s Torch Red C7 Grand Sport convertible in the parking lot months ago, so when it recently came time to celebrate her 100th birthday at Bedford Nursing and Rehab Center in Bedford, New Hampshire, she knew just how to mark the occasion.
Registered nurse Robert O’Conner is the owner of that Corvette and was glad to take Marian on a special ride in his car.
“The smile — she stood grinning from ear to ear. There were a few teary eyes,” O’Conner said. “It’s been a very special day for Marian.”
Wearing a tiara in her hair and a banner across her chest, the beautiful birthday girl was all smiles as she celebrated her special day, which included flowers and balloons from staff members, a birthday cake, a color guard, legion riders, and other veterans.
According to staff members, her family visits every day and said she always points out the Corvette when it’s parked in the lot and expressed a desire to take a ride in it one day.
Happy birthday, Marian, from all of us at CorvetteBlogger!
